PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

In July 2010, in order to address the HWC requirement, URBANscapes Landscape Architects was appointed by the UCT Physical Planning Unit to review the Landscape Plan submission of November 2009 and (in order to fulfill HWC requirements) further develop the Landscape Plan to encompass and detail the Middle Campus as an entire precinct.

The brief was therefore to generate a Middle Campus Landscape Plan

FONDATION PERSPECTIVES D’AVENIR

PROJECT TITLE:

Fondation Perspectives d’Avenir College

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

URBANscapes Landscape Architects was appointed by a client in Brazzaville Congo to implement a roof garden, street level landscaping  and a large water pond and fountain on the roof of a college building.  This included the design of soft (trees, plants, fully automated drip irrigation system materials etc.) and hard landscaping (outdoor and water pond / fountain lighting, metal wall rellises, water fountain pumps etc.).  Included the sourcing of trees and plants, outdoor and fountain lighting, water feature materials, pumps. design and manufacturing of metal wall trellises etc. in South Africa and logistical arrangement of the crating and shipping of soft and hard landscaping materials via air from SA to Brazzaville.  Implementation of all landscape works on site utilising and training of local labour.

KOEBERG EDUSEC CAMPUS

PROJECT TITLE:

Edusec Koeberg Nuclear Power Station

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Rehabilitation work and new hard and soft Landscaping to existing Edusec campus at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station.  Unfortunately initial Campus design and layout was done at incorrect ground levels resulting in development being constructed below natural ground level – causing flooding during winter months, URBANscapes brief included the redesign of the landscape levels with planting and hard surfaces to facilitate the proper runoff of water to detention pond at the lower end of the site.
