URBANscapes involvment in the planning and various phases of implementation started in 1996 and continued untilled 2010 under various local authority appointments. These included all landscape architectural services from contextual planning, through detail design, specification, schedule of works and quantities and preliminary costing for budget purposes through to site supervision. Also included was a detailed management and maintenance plan as well as a visionary master plan including a mixed use private and public development edge along 2km. This mixed use development strip culminated with a development forming a gateway development into Khayelitsha. This proposed development edge as well as Park was documented in a report submitted to the National Lottery Submission for Funding. This entire process included throughout local community and Interested and Affected Parties Management and Facilitation. Local Artists were also closely involved. Due to the length of the project small business enterprises were developed. |
