Michelle Robertson-Swift was appointed as part of a City of Cape Town (Urban Design Department) team that was tasked with designing the dignified public spaces for various public use including informal trade opportunities. Tappointment included planning, design, detail drawings and specification as well as compilation of hard and soft landscape tender documentation. Lastly the project the implementation of the design and supervision of the construction process. Opportunities of this project included the custom design of public furniture to also function as informal trade space elements. finishing of this furniture and stps and planters included mosaic work which design and application was taught to local community members. |

As part of SA hosting the 2010 FIFA Fan Court preparations URBANscapes was appointed to provide all landscape architectural services from contextual planning, through detail design, specification, schedule of works and quantities and preliminary costing for budget purposes through to site supervision. Site is an important Cultural Historic site and needs to be treated as such all the time. Site levels presented a challenge whe wanting a level interface with surrounding street levels and buiding. In orde to acheive this a cestion of permeable paving system. First use of system in a City Project. |
